Maula Kalika Famous Religious and Tourist Site of Nawalparasi District



Maula kalika is one of the popular religious hindu temple of Goddess kalika, situated on the hilltop 1 kilometer north of the Gaindakot, Nawalparasi. It is the famous religious and tourist destination located in the premises of holy religious site Devghat Dham. Mainly the temple is crowded in Dashain, the famous festival of hindu for the worshiping goddess Durga, the symbol of energy and power. Thousands of people visit the temple every year to worship goddess kalika. It is also developing as hiking and trekking spot among the local people, foreign tourists and people of nearby towns of Narayangard, Bharatpur, Chitwan, Dhading, Tanahu, Rupandehi and Palpa. Worth-seeing scenes from the hilltop and the pleasure one feels from trekking and wandering green dense forests also mesmerize people there. The number of people visiting this temple from all parts of country thereby helping and promoting internal tourism of the Nawalparasi district. It is choosen as a destination to entertain their leisure time with the feel of cool breeze, observation of wide panoramic views of wilderness and exciting adventure of walking through 2000 meters long sloppy and curvy stairs to reach the final destination.

Visitor may enjoy the panoramic views of Narayani River (Gandaki), Gaindakot Town, Chitwan Valley on the south of the hill and Mount Manaslu and the Annapurna Range on the north. The local hikers prefer to hike at morning as the environment at morning is cool and peace. The hiking can be added as an additional activities to the tourists who visit Chitwan National Park and Lumbini Sightseeing Tours.
